Simon Hill BDS Dip Imp Dent RCS (Eng) GDC No 72727

Having grown up in Llantwit Major, this historic town in the heart of the Vale of Glamorgan was the obvious location for Simon Hill to open his Implant and General Dental Practice. The town also provided the springboard for Simon’s professional rugby career and he went on to play for Cardiff and won 12 caps for Wales. Simon is still very much involved in rugby in the local community, coaching the Llantwit Major RFC First XV.
Simon Hill qualified from Cardiff Dental School in 1996 and has gone on to build up a very successful general practice. He developed his skills in providing the highest standard of aesthetic dentistry before concentrating on the placement and restoration of dental implants. He has completed the Diploma in Implantology with the Royal College of Surgeons and has an advanced certificate in hard tissue augmentation. Simon has over 16 years experience placing implants and implant retained restorations, ranging from simple tooth replacement to complex full mouth rehabilitation including the new Columbus Bridge treatment which provides patients with restorations in just 24 hours. He is a fully trained sedationist and also lectures and acts as a mentor for other dentists interested in developing their skills in implantology.


Rhys Redford BDS (Wales) – GDC no: 244725

Rhys graduated with first class honors from Cardiff University in 2013.  He has since amassed an array of experience in general dental practice, the community dental service and in oral and maxillofacial surgery in the hospital setting.  

 His clinical interests include restorative dentistry and oral surgery.  Rhys also enjoys teaching, having completed a postgraduate qualification in medical and dental education.

 Outside of work, Rhys enjoys expanding his passion for food by exploring new restaurants with his wife.  He likes to keep fit and enjoys running.  He also has a keen interest in American football.

 


Bindhu Koshy MFDS Royal College of Surgeons Of England 2003 MClinDent Lond 2002 BDS Mangalore 1994 GDC NO 83910

Dr.Bindhu Koshy has recently joined us to provide dedicated specialist periodontal services in the management of patients with periodontal diseases. She gained her periodontal specialist qualification from the University of London in 2001, and then spent the next few years working at the Bart’s and the London NHS hospital in addition to Specialist Practice, building on her experience in patient management and research in the specialty of Periodontology.

In 2006, she took up an academic post as Clinical Lecturer in Restorative Dentistry at Cardiff University where her career has focused on research into identification of pathogenic mechanisms of periodontal destruction during periodontal disease and peri-implantitis, in addition to taking a lead role in major clinical trials with a view to developing biomarkers for periodontal diseases.  She holds a teaching qualification from Cardiff University, MPhil from Cardiff University, membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Edinburgh; is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Educational Academy, Member of the Faculty of Dental Trainers at RCSEd, is on the GDC Specialist list in Periodontology, an examiner for the Royal Colleges of England and Edinburgh in addition to her role as an Expert witness.

Dr Koshy has presented her work both nationally and internationally and published in leading international periodontal journals. Her expertise covers all aspects of periodontics including basic sciences and clinical management which includes nonsurgical and surgical management, regeneration, aesthetics, supportive periodontal therapy and is one of only a few clinicians to limit her practice solely to service limited to the specialist field of periodontics. Her research background provides her with a good foundation and experience to integrate the scientific background to clinical situations. Dr Koshy will be welcoming referrals from colleagues and self-referrals for management of patients with periodontal diseases, provide second opinions in addition to specialised treatment protocol for the high-risk patients with a view to stabilising their periodontal condition and further monitoring them as required to achieve optimal oral health before discharging them back to the care of their general dentist.

 


Benni Schindehutte BDS -GDC No 229311

Ben was born in Germany and moved to Llantwit Major at the age of 10. From a young age, Ben was determined to follow in his grandad’s footsteps and become a dentist.

In 2012, Ben qualified from Cardiff University and has been working as a general dental practitioner ever since. Catering for a range of private and

NHS patients, Ben strives to deliver a dynamic, creative and hardworking service, whilst placing patient wellbeing at the core of his practice.

Through courses and conferences, Ben keeps up to date with the latest evidence-based approaches within his profession. He maintains a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry, including white composite fillings, cosmetic crowns/ bridges and short-term cosmetic tooth alignment with clear and tooth coloured braces. Ultimately, these treatments help Ben to improve his patients’ smiles, confidence and oral health

Outside of dentistry, Ben is a sporting enthusiast and enjoys water skiing.


David Broughton BDS – GDC No 251346

David qualified from Cardiff University in 2014. He aims to provide high quality treatment in a relaxed environment. He is constantly looking to broaden and improve his skills and knowledge, and is a provider of Smilelign clear aligners.

Outside of work, David is a keen s

kier. He used to race nationally and was Welsh Champion. He also enjoys keeping fit at the gym and playing tennis and badminton. He loves watching rugby and holds a season ticket with Cardiff Rugby.
